In today's era of geopolitical shifts and global turbulence, understanding and leveraging diversity are crucial for success in multicultural contexts — both at the individual and organisational level.

Culture Chat Frauke and Marie-Christine welcome Professor Peter Franklin, an esteemed author, speaker, and expert in intercultural competence. Peter calls himself an Interculturalist, dedicating his expertise to helping individuals and organisations manage and leverage cultural diversity and contextual complexity. With a strong emphasis on Germany and the UK, Peter has coached, trained, and advised professionals from over 90 companies worldwide. He addresses the challenges and opportunities of working, managing, and leading in diverse cultural environments. Peter is a Professor at HTWG Konstanz University of Applied Sciences in Germany, specialising in language, communication, and culture in international business and management.

References

Peter Franklin: Since 1998, Professor Franklin has taught and written about intercultural communication and management at a university in southern Germany. He has also contributed to various BA, MA, and MBA programs across China and Europe. Peter is a member of his university's Konstanz Institute of Corporate Governance.

For over three decades, Peter has advised, trained and addressed countless people and organisations with the aim of developing their ability to work, manage and lead across cultures. His specialisations include managing change across cultures and optimising the work of international, virtual teams. He works and publishes in both English and German.

Peter Franklin was brought up on the coast in the UK - within sight of France and Belgium. After graduating from Cambridge University, he worked in Germany intending to stay for two years but spent the rest of his life there. He now lives on the banks of a lake in south-west Germany - within sight of Switzerland.

Peter Franklin is the co-author of several books, including Global Fitness for Global People: How to Manage and Leverage Cultural Diversity at Work, which offers practical insights for thriving in today's global workplaces.
